Overlapping trade groups merge

At a glance, the Information Technology Association of America and the Government Electronics and Information Technology Association seem similar. Both groups represent a similar line-up of tech companies, and much of their membership, programs and services overlap. The similarities have not escaped the two groups’ boards of directors, which recently announced they would explore a merger in 2008.
